Quinao Bisi bele bath on stove top

 

Ingredients 

Bisi bele bath powder – 3 tsp or more to taste (I used MTR brand)
Quinoa – 1 cup (washed and cook in a rice cooker with 2 cups of water. ( I used only 3/4 cup of Quinoa)
Toor dal – 3/4 cup (wash and cook in cooker with 3 times of water for 4 whistles)
Onions – 1/2 medium chopped
Ginger Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Tomato – 1 medium chopped 
Potato – 2  diced in big cubes ( like 2 inches)
Carrot- 1/4 cup
Beans- 1/4 cup
Drumsticks - 10
Capsicum – 1/2  - diced into 1-inch cubes
Peas – 1/4 cup
Tamarind concentrate paste – 3/4 tsp ( I use store-bough TAMICON brand)
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Oil- 2 tbsp


Seasoning :

Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
Hing – 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves – few
Dry red chilies – 1
Cashews – 10 ( broken into small pieces
Ghee - 4 tbsp. ( 2 for IP and 2 for Seasoning)



Method :

1. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and onion, and fry onions are light brown color
2. Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
3. Now add Drumsticks and fry for 2 mins with an open lid and cook for 5 mins with the lid closed
4. Now add Potatoes, Peas, Carrot, and beans and fry for 2-3 mins
5. Now add tomato and Bisi bell bath powder and salt and mix well and cook for 2 -3 mins
6. Now add Quinoa, dal, and tamarind paste and mix well
7. Now add water as needed based on what thickness you like
8. close the lid and cook for 5 mins on low flame.
9. Now open the lid, check the salt and add water if needed.
10. Now heat ghee in a pan, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, Dry red chili, cashews, and mix n fry for 1-2 mins 
11. Now add to hing and mix once, add this seasoning to the quinoa mixture and close the lid and cook for more 5 mins on low flame.
