Dahi wali Aloo

1st set Ingredients

Potatoes - 2 lbs ( nearly 10-12 pieces)

Oil - 3-4 tbsp

Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp

Turmeric - 1/2 tsp


2nd set Ingredients

Oil - 2 tbsp

Dry red chili - 2 broken

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp

Curry leaves - 2 springs

Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp

Fried onions - 1/2 cup

Water - 1 tbsp


Spices:

Coriander powder - 1 tbsp

Kashmiri chili powder - 1 tbsp

Chat masala - 2 tsps

Mango powder ( amachoor)- 1 tsp 

Ginger powder - 1 tsp ( optional)

Red chili powder - 1 tsp

Garam Masala - 1 tsp

Salt - 1 tsp


Water - 2 tbsp

Water - 2 tbsp


3 rd set Ingredients

Yogurt (curd) - 1 cup

Besan - 1 tsp

Mix yogurt and besan and keep aside


4th set Ingredients

Dry fenugreek leaves - 1 tsp

Green chilies - 2 whole



Method :

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add potatoes and add red chili powder and turmeric and fry nicely till out layer of patties become little crisper.
  2. Take potatoes and keep aside.
  3. Now on little high heat add 2 tbsp oil 
  4. Now add dry red chili and cumin seeds and curry leaves and saute well
  5. Now add ginger garlic paste and mix well and fry well
  6. Now add fried onions and saute well for a min or two
  7. Now add 1 tbsp water so fried onions can become little soft
  8. Now add all dry spices and 2 tbsp water and keep mixing 
  9. Now add 2 tbsp more water and mix well
  10. Now add yogurt besan mix little by little and mix well for a min or two
  11. Now add roasted Potatoes and mix well.
  12. Now add 3 tbsp water and cover and cook on medium-low heat
  13. After 6 mins open the lid and add Dry Fenugreek leaves and whole green chilies and close the lid and cook on dum for medium lo heat or 2 mins.
  14. After 2 mins mix well and keep aside.
  15. When you serve, if you feel it became very thick add 1/2 cup hot water and mix well.
